How to hire us and the way we work
How to hire us
In order to hire Dutch Family Roots, we require a message from you containing as much information as possible about your Dutch family history. Please provide accurate and properly spelled first and last names, birth dates, birth places, and any other relevant details you may have. The more precise the information you provide, the better we can conduct our research.

Once we receive your information, we will review it briefly. If we require additional information, we will request it from you. If we have enough information to proceed with research, we will inform you accordingly. We will only commence the project once both parties have agreed on the scope of the work that Dutch Family Roots is required to undertake.

In all cases, we will send you an invoice for the first half of the job before commencing our work. You can pay this invoice with PayPal, an international banking website that facilitates money transfers between people worldwide.
How to pay with PayPal
To make a payment with PayPal, you must first register with them on www.paypal.com. Once registered, we can send you a payment request that you can pay through their website. The payment process is easy and occurs in real time. Please note that the cost of a money transfer with PayPal is 5.75% of the invoice amount. These costs will be included in our invoice and charged to you accordingly.
Our report
Once you have paid for the first half of the job, we will commence the research. Throughout the process, we will compile a report that includes scans, photos, or links to any relevant documents that we uncover. The report will also contain suggestions for additional digital research or on-site research in archives and historical institutes in the Netherlands.

Once our work is complete, we will send you the second invoice. (*)
(*) Please note that in some cases, such as when we uncover very little or no information during the first half of the Digital Screening or Digital Check, we will cease the research immediately and will not send the second invoice.
About our fees
For cases up to and including 10 hours, our fee is 130 euros per hour including taxes. This fee covers services such as Digital Screening, Digital Check, On-site research, and Search for Photos. For cases exceeding 10 hours, such as Help writing a book and General research in big cases, we offer a reduced fee. However, our fee for Research on unknown heirs remains at 130 euros per hour including taxes.

ON-SITE RESEARCH
Dutch Family Roots can conduct on-site research in archives throughout the Netherlands.
In addition to the National Archive in The Hague, the Netherlands has numerous regional archives, city archives, special archives, and historical institutes located throughout the country. Dutch Family Roots is able to conduct on-site research at each of these archives and institutes on your behalf.
