Researching Dutch ancestors: our specialized services
Aside from our standard services, we offer several more specialized options in researching your Dutch ancestors. Below, we will explain how we can help you create a family tree book, set up large-scale research projects and find unknown heirs in case of inheritance.
Writing a heritage book
If you are interested in writing a heritage or family tree book, Dutch Family Roots will be happy to assist you. We offer help in writing about personal family history, historical figures or more specific historical topics, such as houses, ships or family land. Our help consists of research in Dutch national archives, as well as considerable help in creating your own custom Dutch heritage book. We offer two options for this service: writing a book on your own or alongside Dutch Family Roots.
Writing a heritage book on your own
We do the research, you do the writing. Dutch Family Roots can help you navigate Netherlands genealogy records online, show you how to find birth records online, provide you with the right information from libraries and archives and help you find relevant historical photographs. The final product, a book on your personal family history, is completely up to you.
Creating a custom Dutch heritage book together
We also
offer the option of writing a book together. This includes all the above-mentioned
research, as well as clear help in writing a custom Dutch heritage book. Thanks
to our years of experience in writing historical books and articles, we know
exactly what makes a good, compelling and well-researched book.
Large-scale Dutch ancestry research
We offer custom, large-scale Dutch ancestry research for both corporations and individuals. Think for instance of research for public organizations, television programs, historical associations or small and large companies with roots in the Netherlands. For individuals, we offer more than just research in online genealogy records; we can help you find (living) relatives or assist you in planning a heritage trip to different places in the Netherlands.
Researching Dutch ancestors for a reduced fee
Interested in creating a heritage book alongside Dutch Family Roots? Or looking to hire a genealogist to find your living relatives in the Netherlands? Because these are large-scale, specialized services that take more than 10 hours, we are able to offer you a reduced fee.
Hire a Dutch genealogist to find unknown heirs
Lastly, we offer research to locate unknown heirs in case of inheritance. We know exactly how to find birth records online and how to search Dutch national archives for wills as well as marriage and death certificates. Once we have completed our research, we will provide you with a professional report including scans of any wills or other relevant documents we discovered in our research. These can also be translated by a sworn translator and legalized by a court in the Netherlands.
Our research into unknown heirs is done on proposal. Contact us via our website with as much information as you can on your family history, or read more about our work and fees on our How we work-page.
“Please, start the research. I hope for more light on the family secret.”
